THE STORY OF A KING AND CROCODILE

THE STORY OF A KING AND CROCODILE

King: "What manner of creature is this that approaches my kingdom, guards?"

Guard: "Your majesty, it appears to be a crocodile, sir."

King: "A crocodile, you say? I have never seen one in these parts before. What does it want?"

Crocodile: "I have come to request an audience with the great king. I have heard of his wisdom and fairness, and I have a matter of importance to discuss with him."

King: "Very well, I will hear you out. Speak, crocodile."

Crocodile: "Thank you, your majesty. I have been living in the nearby river for many years, and my family and I have been driven out by a group of hunters who are destroying the habitat and killing my kin. I beg of you, King, to put a stop to this and protect my home and my people."

King: "I see. This is a serious matter indeed. I will dispatch my guards to investigate and put an end to this hunting, if it is indeed happening. And I will also send a team of builders to construct a barrier around your home, to keep you and your family safe."

Crocodile: "Thank you, your majesty. I am in your debt."

King: "No need to thank me, crocodile. It is my duty to protect all the inhabitants of my kingdom, whether they be human or animal. We are all part of the same community, and we must all live in harmony."

Crocodile: "You are truly a wise and just king. I will spread the word of your kindness and fairness to all the creatures of the river."

King: "I am glad to hear it. And please, do not hesitate to come to me if you or your family ever need assistance in the future."

Crocodile: "I will remember that, your majesty. Thank you again, and farewell."

King: "Farewell, crocodile. And good luck to you and your family."
